About
I am a Christian who does my best (though far, far from perfect) to live my life in a way that is pleasing to the Lord and is invested in things that will count for eternity. My favorite Bible verse is Eph 4:1- “Walk worthy of the calling to which you have been called.”
I have been married to my wife Jamy for 16 years and couldn’t ask for a better soul mate and partner in ministry than her. It’s hard to describe my appreciation for all she is and all she does. We have three wonderful children and keep busy with their many activities. I love to spend time with my kids and we are very proud of them! Though I’m a native Texan, we make our home in Shawnee, Oklahoma and love it.
I have had the tremendous privilege of pastoring Immanuel Baptist Church since 2003. This has been and is such an amazing experience for me and my family. We serve an incredible church that loves the Lord and His Word, is unified, and is focused on the Great Commission. Since we have been at IBC, we have relocated to a new campus and expanded our schedule to include three Sunday morning worship services and two Sunday Schools. The growth, both spiritual and numerical, has been phenomenal. I praise the Lord and give Him the glory for what He is doing at IBC and allowing me to be a part of it.
I have a passion for teaching and expository preaching. I teach as an adjunct for Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and love to read and dialogue about theology, doctrine, and current issues. I love to preach and am grateful for the opportunities I have to do so. I am a big history buff. I love to go on mission trips and experience other cultures and engage them with the gospel. I love to play and watch sports and I’m really into running right now. Growing up in the metroplex, I can’t help but be a die-hard Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks fan. Now I love to root for the OKC Thunder. I enjoy hunting and fishing outings with my son and date nights with my wife and daughters.
That’s about it to describe me. I am blessed beyond description.

I was looking at my facebook and came across these articles that you have written. My husband Larry & I were lucky enough to attend church at Immanuel Baptist Church in Shawnee in 2009 and 2010 and it was such an experience words can’t explain. In November we moved back to Texas, Keller Texas. We are almost in Ft Worth. Can you recommend a church where we might get some of the joy that we experienced at IBC? Keep up your great work, you are really blessed.
I am so grateful that I have found a wonderful church with wonderful people that I can call my church family. After not being in church for 22 years it is such a blessing to be back hearing Gods word and leading a spiritual life and being a mom it really helps and sets a great example for them.
